To Parents
We are so grateful that you found your way here and that you want to learn more about nature and be a good role model for your children. There are many of us adults who want to leave a sustainable future for our children.
The saying “Children do as you do, not as you say” applies to all of us. We naturally want to be like the people we admire—to be like them and do as they do. You are a role model for your family, and perhaps your children will be the “environmental heroes” of future generations.
Climate-Smart and Digital
We have now created a set of themed materials for your family that you can try out yourselves, read in Swedish, and then discuss in your home language. We believe and hope that this will promote your children’s learning, foster good study habits, and give parents insight into their children’s learning for sustainable development.
Cook at Home
At school, children don’t always have time to tinker, test, and experiment—but now you can do that at home! It’s even possible that your child’s teacher will assign homework asking the “student” to observe and document something at home or in the local environment, which will then serve as the basis for classroom work.
Why?
Our vision is to leave a sustainable world for our children; we do this by educating and engaging children and their families in learning about sustainable development. Our educational materials are primarily aimed at children ages 10–12 and are always up-to-date, inspiring, science-based, and aligned with the school curriculum. Since 1993, we have produced printed educational materials for over 5,000,000 students, but we also want to be a source of support and a resource for the teachers who carry out the important mission of educating our future generations.
Now we also want to give children access to our materials through simple, digital means.
We believe that providing the younger generation with knowledge about our nature and environment at an early age is an unbeatable way to lay the groundwork for sustainable development. Our guiding principle is that learning should be based on opportunities and, at the same time, should be enjoyable.
By publishing educational resources and materials, we aim to be a driving force in society for sustainable development. Our publications are based on collaboration with municipalities, the business community, government agencies, and organizations. Thanks to our partners, we are able to provide our educational resources and this themed material to Sweden’s elementary schools and families completely free of charge.
