El-Kretsen is a national collection system for electronic waste and batteries.
Together with all 290 municipalities in the country, a number of different recycling companies, and all the producers who support and fund the entire operation, we have built a system that truly makes a difference. 🌍
Recycling conserves the Earth’s resources by allowing us to reuse materials that have already been extracted once. Furthermore, the energy required for recycling is only a fraction of what is needed for mining, for example.
💡Even though we recycle a lot, we still have a ways to go before all materials and substances can be recycled back into their original form. We’re on our way there, but it requires further development—and that development starts in school.
Through our collaboration with Natur &Miljöboken, we hope to help spark curiosity and provide insight into why, what, and how we should collect and recycle electronic waste and batteries.
What is the book about?
In this theme-based resource, we provide you with a comprehensive overview of electricity and energy. It’s best suited for students in grades 6–9. We present the material using text, images, and short videos. You’ll get to test yourself right away and solve some puzzles.
Once you’ve read through the entire resource, you’ll understand a lot more about what energy is! We’ll think about how we managed before electricity was invented and talk a little about the different forms of energy. We also want to inspire you with Swedish inventions and smart energy solutions. We’ll test your knowledge with a few questions and discuss what you would do during a power outage and how you could manage without electricity today.
As with all our themes, information on the Global Goals, sustainable development, and the circular economy is also included.
